Technical Background

MA in Natural Sciences, New Hall, University of Cambridge, majored in chemistry. PhD in Chemistry (Surface Science), Department of Chemistry, University of Cambridge, with CASE award from Katalco, ICI. Research into heterogeneous catalysis on a single crystal platinum surface using supersonic molecular beams.

Professional Experience

Qualified as Chartered Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney in 1999. Experience in industry with BP from 1995 to 1999 and in private practice since then. Joined D. Young & Co. in 2003. Became Partner 2006.

Clients currently include SMEs, multi-national industrial firms and foreign attorneys.
