Technical Background

First class Honours degree in Biochemistry, New College, Oxford; specialising in Immunology and Cell Signalling.

PhD in molecular immunology, Department of Immunology, University College London.

Research into antigen processing using antisense technology.

Professional Experience

Experienced in drafting, filing and prosecuting UK, European and PCT applications, EPO opposition and appeal work.

Clients include academic departments, research institutes, start-ups, SMEs, larger industrial firms and foreign attorneys.

Given introductory lectures for universities on “Patents and Biotechnology. Why premature publication can seriously damage your wealth”; also general advice to inventors at clinics organised by a Bristol-based inventor support scheme.

Previous work with cases involving mechanical and chemical subject matter, and designs.

Joined D Young & Co in 2000 and became a Partner in 2003.
