Professional Experience

Four years at British Technology Group (BTG) followed by four years in-house at TEVA Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd prior to joining D Young & Co in 1997. Became a Partner in 2000.

Extensive experience in contentious issues such as third party infringement opinions, patent validity and due diligence. Has been involved in Alpharma v Vectrapharm (UKPO and Appeal to High Court), Collag v Rohm & Haas (HC & CA), Collag v Merck (HC), Teva Pharmaceutical & others v Merck (HC & CA) and various other UK actions. Has advised on several major mergers in the pharmaceutical industry.

Clients include academic departments, research institutes, startups and local SMEs, large industrial firms as well as overseas attorneys.

Other Interests/Activities

Has spoken at several IP Conferences over recent years including World Patent Congress, International Patent Disputes and the International Workshop on Physical Characterisation of Pharmaceutical Solids.
